No plan to encroach on Dog Park was proposed - 04.24.14
More than a hundred people attended Tuesday night's Council Meeting specifically to hear the presentation by the Friendship Shelter and Jamboree Housing about the proposed Supportive Housing plan. Representatives from the Pacific Marine Mammal Center and the Dog Park also spoke and were recognized as significant stakeholders. The Friendship Shelter re-asserted that they have no plan to encroach upon the Dog Park and no proposal to do so was made by City Council or anyone else present.
The Council made no decision on the project. Instead, they asked the Friendship Shelter and Jamboree to conduct much more community outreach and gather more data before returning to the Council at a later date with a more detailed plan that they hope will address concerns raised by the project’s immediate neighbors and the community as a whole.
